Our journey began in 1976 when a young ambitious teenage dancer had the dream of owning her own dance studio. Eleanor Donovan Gilson, a South Buffalo native, opened the studio when she was a junior in high school attending Mount Mercy Academy. What began as a small one studio dance school, with only a couple students, grew into a large loving family business in the heart of this beautiful Buffalo community.

We offer classes for anyone and everyone here at South Buffalo Dance Academy.
Services
Here at SBDA we honor and cherish self expression of our dancers.
We want every student to be able to show their own personality through their dance attire.
Because of this we do not require a strict dress code.
Although it is required our dancers dress properly and in dance attire/active wear for movement and the different styles of dance they are taking.
Below are what is needed for for each class.
Dancers need a simple black tap shoe as well as ballet slippers or sneakersWe recommend getting a shoe fitting at Bailey's Slipper Shop.
As we prepare for registration and our new season, here is a lookback at our 2020 Recital Parade!
It wasn't quite the year we expected, but thanks to all.
Wanted to share a little bit of the fun we had at our Frozen Winter Dance Camp this winter break!
Today was a very special day for SBDA to honor the healthcare workers at Mercy Hospital.
Along with dropping off the donation, some of our adorable SBDA representatives (Sara, Abbey, and Serafina) showed off the dance from the event.
