SPDC reaches beyond the arts community with a diverse repertoire that reflects upon larger societal issues through performances, classes, workshops, community outreach, arts integration residencies and collaborations with musicians and composers, artists and actors, puppeteers, poets and professors.
It is our vision to fulfill our mission by providing audiences from all cultures, age groups, abilities and income levels throughout the Greater Hartford region with opportunities to learn how to dance, watch dance, appreciate dance and/or incorporate dance in their lives.

The Apprentice Training Program is a two-year work-study program designed for high school graduates between the ages of 17-23 who chose not to attend a traditional four- year college dance program.
Apprentices train and rehearse with SPDC Company dancers, shadow teach in our award winning arts integration work with schools and build career skills through a variety of opportunities in press, marketing, administration, box office and behind the scenes alongside our Technical Director.

Our nationally acclaimed, award winning Arts Integration and Arts Experience infuse dance, movement, and creative expression into math, science and literature curriculum - making classrooms come alive for students and teachers alike.
