Hawkins has been a 2nd home to our dancer. Besides the amazing training she has received and the exciting experiences she has been able to take part in, the teachers have instilled in her a great sense of confidence and love for the art form. We could not be happier that we chose to spend the last 10 years at Hawkins with our daughter!.

Hawkins Children's Classes & Program are designed for children ages 3 to 8 and incorporate fun and imaginative activities as a way to teach dance techniques while still introducing and reinforcing techniques core to each dance genre. The Recreational Dancer and Performer has the opportunity to explore different forms of movement and expression across an broad range of dance, acrobatics and dramatic arts.

Hawkins classes appeal to all ages and experience levels and encourage students to find their artistic self at their own pace, as well as perform on stage pieces they have learned in class. Hawkins Troupes and Companies represent an opportunity for more serious dancers and performers to make a season-long commitment to hone their talent and perform in a team environment.
Services
Hawkins was founded by Deirdre Hawkins over 30 years ago here locally in Folsom.
With an early interest and commitment to ballet and modern dance, Hawkins took root in the community and grew rapidly, prompting two moves and expansions to accommodate the strong interest across dance disciplines.
Fast forward, and Hawkins is regional leader in the performing arts with a broad base across all dance disciplines, as well as programs in musical theater and acrobatics.
Luke Hawkins grew up exposed to all the arts, but immersed himself in tap dance and musical theater.
The Hawkins School of Performing Arts occupies over 16,000 square feet of air conditioned space, 9 sprung-floor dance studios, a piano/vocal room, multiple dressing rooms, a student lounge, and spacious waiting rooms.
We have parking for 70+ vehicles and are conveniently located off Folsom Auburn Road, just two miles off Highway 50.
Our studio is equipped with an office and administrative staff to support the needs of our dancers and to answer your questions.
Additionally, we are a nut free studio to ensure that every dancer has a safe, healthy place to grow.
Do you have a desire to be part of a giving group of parents who support dancers at Hawkins and the greater community?
Come join the Hawkins Boosters and have a good time while making a big difference for the studio and your kiddos!
Just look at the amazing changes we have made for the Hawkins School of Performing Arts so far!
The Boosters would love to have more volunteers at the snack barre which is our biggest fundraising tool.
Just one of the many contributions of the Boosters to enhance dancer training - equipment for PBT training!
If student discontinues classes, re-registration will be required to resume.
Tuition is collected by automated credit card, debit card or electronic check payments and will be completed on the 3rd of the month or the first business day following if the 3rd is on a weekend or holiday.
Tuition is based on an entire season, and is divided into 11 equal payments.
No adjustment will be made for vacations, holidays, or missed classes (students may makeup classes in any appropriate age and level class within 60 days and only if currently enrolled).
Typically, Hawkins Showcase is held in multiple shows at the Jill Solberg Performing Arts Center at the conclusion of the school season in mid-June.
In 2021, the shows will be performed on the Hawkins Outdoor Performance Stage.
Prior to general public sales, tickets are allocated and available to families.
Individual and group photos, as well as performance videos may be offered as well.
For a more serious dancer or performer, Hawkins Companies and Troupes combine more advanced technique, choreography and time commitment, and offer additional performance opportunities.
