Over the Top Academy of dance is dedicated to the art and beauty of dance for dancers of all ages. We have served Grand Rapids with quality dance instruction since 1977. We focus on enriching all students with the love of movement and dance. From the beginning recreational dancer to the committed competitive student, all of our students are part of our family.

Over The Top Academy of Dance is located in the Alger Heights neighborhood.
Formally known as Jon T Dance Arts Center, the owner, Jennifer Smith, started dancing at Jon T in 1987 at the age of 4. Since 2005, under the direction of Miss Jennifer, the business has continued to thrive and service families with quality dance instruction and customer service.
We pride ourselves on our age appropriate choreography, music, and costuming for all students.
We are teaching more than just dance to our students, we have an obligation to improve self-esteem, inspire our students, and act as positive role models.

This season we will be implementing a NEW system for payments.
We now will require all registrations to have a credit card on file.
You will still have the options to pay your monthly dance bill by CASH, CHECK or CREDIT CARD.
The credit card on file will be charged on the 3rd of each month if the monthly dance balance is not paid prior with another tender.
You will be required to pay your first month and May's tuition at signup.
The $25 late fee will be applied towards any month that the balance isn't paid by the 3rd.

At Over The Top Academy Of Dance we begin instruction at the preschool level and continue through the adult level.
We have classes available for the beginning recreational dancer and the student who wants to be a committed competitive dancer.
We teach the disciplines of Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop and offer affordable pricing with a variety of class structures to fit the needs of every student.
This is an awesome class to channel the creative energy of young children into the love of movement expressed though dance.
We have classes available for the beginning recreational dancer and the student who wants to be a committed competitive dancer.
We teach the disciplines of Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop and offer affordable pricing with a variety of class structures to fit the needs of every student.

Members of CRU embody the essence and vision of Over The Top Academy of Dance.
Ages, 5 to 18, they and their parents are committed to many technique classes as well as hours of competition rehearsals to be prepared for performances.
Their dedication to working hard and achieving dance excellence makes us very proud!
Last year CRU won several competitions and high ranking titles.
This team will be competing throughout Michigan and the greater Grand Rapids Area in 2019.
CRU is invitation only.
There are no auditions, except working hard in technique classes as well as taking any open workshops or summer classes that you are able to participate in.
