The Omayra Amaya Flamenco Dance Company is a nonprofit performing arts organization dedicated to the advancement and awareness of flamenco dance and music. We strive to increase understanding and appreciation for this dynamic Spanish art form through performances, education, and presence in communities around the world. The Omayra Amaya Flamenco Dance Company, based in Miami, Florida, performs all over the world under the artistic direction of Omayra Amaya.
Founded in 1994, the company is grounded in flamenco's centuries-old rhythms, traditional structure and deep emotions, yet also stretches to embrace Cuban music and Jazz, innovative staging and modern movement. A master of both sustained tension and fast-shifting moods, she commands the stage and makes the audience her hostage, whether marching like a filly in dress parade or suggesting a bull-like ferocity.

Omayra Amaya offers flamenco dance workshops and private coaching in Miami, New York City and Boston as well as across the United States and internationally.
Her students in Miami and New York City regularly appear in student recitals, ferias and juergas.

When the stage lights came on, the entire group of seven was arranged around a table in complete stillness like a sculpture.
Slowly, they started unraveling that image one by one, spreading themselves around, punctuating their separation with brief solos, then repositioning themselves in a tight configuration again.
