The Irish Dance Academy was founded in 1997 as a non-profit youth organization to foster the love of Irish Dance, culture, and tradition. Since its inception, the I.D.A.A. has been the premier dance academy in Anchorage in partnership with the Comerford School of Irish Dance. Its teams and solo dancers ranking highly in Regional, National, and World-class competitions.
The I.D.A.A. prides itself on its community outreach and fosters the dance's spirit and love from our newest beginner to our most seasoned champion. The Irish Dance Academy of Alaska proudly performs under the direction of Noreen Wescott T.C.R.G. and Tony Comerford A.D.C.R.G. Annual registration of $30 per student, $45 per family plus tuition (approximately $350 per semester).
Dance shoes (beginners only need soft shoes which cost approximately $50 new or dancers can buy used) are costs to be expected in the first year. As dancers progress, they need to purchase hard shoes, poodle socks (girls) and rent a costume for performances and/or competition.
