Oregon Irish Dance Academy
At OIDA, we love Irish dancing -- and it shows! Our goal is to build self-esteem and confidence through the wonderful sport and art of Irish dancing. We want our students to leave each class feeling successful and excited for next time. Through example, we show our students how to see the good in every experience, while recognizing, valuing, and being excited about the fact that there is always room for improvement.

We teach our students to enjoy the journey and the hard work that gets them somewhere, and we encourage our students to be creative, ask questions, and be the best that they can be! During Winter, Spring, and Summer Breaks, we hold uniquely awesome Irish Dance Day Camps on weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm. They're truly awesome! We've put together a bunch of our favorite Irish dancing videos so you can see for yourself just how AWESOME Irish dancing is! Grab some popcorn and enjoy!

We've compiled answers to some common questions that we get about Irish dancing and about our classes and camps here at Oregon Irish Dance Academy.
Services
OIDA was founded by sisters Christina and Victoria White.
Born and raised in Portland, Christina and Victoria fell in love with Irish dancing after seeing Riverdance as young girls.
They grew up performing with world-renowned Irish musicians and competing internationally, both earning world rankings!
They discovered a passion for teaching non-competitive Irish dancing, and after a combined 18 years of teaching Irish dancing in various locations across Oregon, in 2017 Christina and Victoria officially put all of their classes under one name, Oregon Irish Dance Academy.
At OIDA, we have developed a program that sets attainable goals, provides level- and age-appropriate challenges, and promotes a positive learning mindset.
Our curriculum has seven levels, each one containing its own step-by-step requirements for progressing as an Irish dancer.
We've crafted our structure to be based on clear, simple-to-understand requirements for how to move up to our next level.
This keeps our dancers focused, gives them appropriate goals to work towards, and teaches them valuable lessons about hard work and accountability.
My daughter has been taking classes with Christina and Victoria for several years now.
They are incredibly warm, caring, talented teachers.
My daughter is in a great mood after every class, always feeling positive about her experience and her progress.
She really admires her teachers and also feels comfortable and confident in their presence.
Couldn't say more about how much we love this program!
The amazing instructors at OIDA make this program an incredible place to learn, laugh, and dance!
Their Irish dance school is unique by offering a non-competitive, performance team dance program.
We believe our program has something for everyone, and we want you to be confident in that as well!
All prospective students (kids and adults!) get a free trial class in our in-person classes at our Portland location, The Children's Gym.
All new students in our Zoom classes AND students who sign up within a week of their free trial in-person class get our New Student Special Offer!
You get half off your first four weeks of classes, PLUS we waive your annual registration fee!
That means you get to do your first month of classes for just $47.50!
Dancers begin by following along to a 15-minute pre-recorded warm-up video, then log in with their teacher for 45 minutes of live Zoom instruction, interaction, and feedback in small groups!
Dancers then end class with a 5-minute pre-recorded cool-down routine.
Teachers structure class to allow for one-on-one time with what each dancer is working on, as well as group exercises, activities, and socializing.
We keep class engaging, encouraging, and exhausting!
We know life is busy and crazy, and now is no different, so we have a super flexible makeup class policy to keep things easy for you!
