Sherwood Dance Academy first opened in Old Town circa 2001. It started with a handful of students, a single classroom, and a vision to share our passion with the growing town. Fast forward 20 years: we now have an amazing dance family that includes hundreds of students, 12 staff, 3 classrooms, and over 60 classes offered each week. At Sherwood Dance Academy, we believe that anyone who wants to dance, should be able to dance.
My daughters have always been welcomed, celebrated, and felt like they belonged by teachers and students alike. SDA is a physical place and a feeling all at once- a place to work hard, gain new skills and friends, share your passion, and find new passions and that is only possible because of the excellent staff that cares, communicates, and embraces the strength that each student brings.

Hip Hop is a modern style of dance influenced by Hip Hop music and is a favorite among tweens and teens.
It is faster and freer than most styles but still uses a lot of the same basic techniques of ballet, contemporary, and hip hop.
In a loving, engaging, and compassionate environment, you are pushed to achieve your goals by an instructor who truly believes in you.

Once the Season has begun, new enrollments are only open in September/October and January/February.
Our Summer Schedule and Dance Season schedules are released in the Spring, at which time we start accepting enrollments.

This means there are no other large purchases needed during the year.
Our families find inclusive tuition is a much easier way to budget for classes.
Inclusions are forfeited if you drop a class mid term and those inclusions have not yet been received.
During our 2nd Open Enrollment period in January-February, there will be an additional 'catch up on inclusions' fee of $60.
We took many of the other expenses you incur over the term and spread them out over the course of 10 months.
This means there are no other large purchases needed during the year.
