For over 25 years Academy of Dance has provided excellence in dance training to ages two through adults to the greater Yankton area. Academy of Dance is under the direction of former touring professional, Dorota Dannenbring. Academy of Dance is also proud to offer adult fitness classes including Barre, Yoga and SHiNE Dance Fitness. She received classical, professional dance training at the Warsaw School of Ballet in Warsaw, Poland.

Dorota studied Russian techniques of classical dance, character dance and traditional folk dance. As a member and soloist with the Polish National Dance Company, Dorota performed throughout Europe, Israel, Canada and the United States. She has performed at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, the Academy of Music in Brooklyn, NY and the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in Pasadena, CA.

Dorota has taught and choreographed for the Vermillion and Lewis and Clark Playhouses, Sleeping Beauty Ballet, various Nutcracker Ballets, Sioux City Symphony, the University of South Dakota, and the School of Ballet Omaha.
Services
Students are to arrive on time for class class, and get picked up immediately after class is over.
In case of bad weather, classes will be canceled whenever Yankton Public Schools are canceled.

In order to provide quality service and a positive learning environment for all, the Academy of Dance reserves the right to refuse service to any person.
Dancers should arrive on time for the start of their scheduled class.
Combines dance techniques with precision acrobatic elements and focuses on tumbling-based movements for dance.
Acro includes flexibility and conditioning exercises to create strong, versatile dancers.
Ballet Note: Ballet students entering 7th grade and up are required to take two ballet classes per week.
Students explore fun activities designed to develop motor skills, rhythm, flexibility, hand-eye coordination and achieve athletic success.
Non-performing class focusing on strengthening, toning, and flexibility to compliment dance training.
Our spring performance is held in the beginning of May at the Summit Activities Center.
This provides our dancers the opportunity to perform on a large stage for their friends and family.
Each yearly performance is a different theme and allows dancers to showcase their talents through a beautiful production.
Our Company group is a wonderful opportunity for dancers who are looking to take their skills to the next level and perform specially choreography pieces at competitions.
We are proud of the Company reputation we have built, and our groups start as young as Kindergarten.
