The Floor Dance Academy is a non-competition, training studio with a faculty comprised of teachers and choreographers who work professionally in Los Angeles and who truly care about the level of ability the kids of this generation can potentially reach. Our studio is a safe space where the students learn, work hard while enjoying the process and discovering more about who they are.
We purposefully provide a positive atmosphere focused on foundation, training and expression for students ranging from 16 months up to 16 years, in the heart of our city. We have the ability to expose our students to many styles and genres of dance as well as provide them with opportunities that not only help them grow as a group but cultivate their individual paths as artists, creators and innovators.
The Floor Dance Academy was created by dancer/choreographer/educator, Jennifer Hamilton, whose work has been featured in over 50 feature films, multiple Broadway productions, a variety of television shows, commercials and music videos.

Services
The Discovery Program (2-5yrs) -includes classes for our 2-5 yr old students.
No previous dance experience is needed.
Your child will begin to learn the foundations of dance and movement and will begin to learn body awareness, dance vocabulary, using their imaginations, as well as building their coordination and confidence.
Our Discovery Program instructors are well-versed in the development of each age group and will use an appropriately curated curriculum during these classes.
Parent/caregiver participation in the 2-3 yr old classes is allowed for the first few classes if needed but the ultimate goal is for the dancers to be focused in the studio without a caregiver present.

The Teen Program includes classes for Pre-Teens ages 8-12 and Teens 12+ yrs and are designed for dancers who are at a beginning/intermediate level in their age category.
These classes are perfect for those students who enjoy dancing once or twice per week and have other commitments outside of dance.
These classes are also a good starting point for pre-teen/teen dancers who are new to dance and want to work towards more advanced levels.
We have amazing instructors for this division who make the classes educational, but fun and not intimidating.

Level 2/2A (9+ yrs) classes are for dancers who have progressed from our studio's Junior Program (Level 1) classes or who have had at least three to four years of dance training.
This level includes students 9+ years old.
Level 2 dancers will be those who have most recently completed the Junior Program (Level 1) or who are in their second year of the Intermediate Division.
Level 2A dancers will have completed a minimum of 2 years in Level 2 and will be working towards entering Level 3 classes.
Most level 2/2A students attend our studio at least two to four times per week.
This level includes students 9+ years old.
Level 2 dancers will be those who have most recently completed the Junior Program (Level 1) or who are in their second year of the Intermediate Division.

Pre-Pro is for our most dedicated students who have a passion for dance and see a future for themselves in the arts.

The program includes set requirements which not only includes mandatory weekly classes, but additional classes/rehearsals with guest teachers, performance opportunities, and other industry related workshops.

To be considered for this program, the selection process includes a student submitted application & class assessment.
The program includes set requirements which not only includes mandatory weekly classes, but additional classes/rehearsals with guest teachers, performance opportunities, and other industry related workshops.

This week is designed to help you ease back into dance & will include a sampling of classes, not the full class schedule.

Classes not meeting the minimum enrollment requirements will be reassessed and possibly removed from the schedule.
If you wish to withdraw enrollment from a class, it is your responsibility to notify us a minimum of 48 hrs prior to that week's class or you will continue to be charged.
