The Rockford Dance Company is a pre-professional dance company that focuses on top-level training and multiple performance opportunities. Every holiday season RDC produces The Nutcracker, as well as a full-length ballet in the spring. The Company also performs in a variety of small concerts throughout the year. Many of The Company members receive their dance training through the School of Rockford Dance Company and perform at several community events through the City of Rockford.
First Company Principal, Apprentices, Trainees and Second Company members commit to an extensive training program that consists of classes, rehearsals and workshops. Auditions for our Company program are held each fall, and the contracted commitment is for one year. Required classes run Monday through Thursday evenings, and Saturday mornings with rehearsals running Saturday afternoons when applicable.
