Tommie Shaw & Company LLC is an artistic dance business located in Arlington, Virginia that provides classes in a variety of dance forms, primarily to children but also to adults. We offer classes for ages pre-k and older. We provide dance programs held at a variety of venues throughout Northern Virginia, District of Columbia and Southern Maryland.
We are currently providing dance programs in Arlington, Falls Church, McLean, Alexandria, Reston, Fairfax, District of Columbia, Herndon and Bethesda. We currently offer classes in Hip Hop, Breakdance, Contemporary Dance, Classical Ballet, Pre-Ballet, "Hula" Hoop Dance, Creative Movement, Traditional Tap Dance, Modern Dance, Irish Dance, Latin Dance, Jazz Dance and Pom Dance.
We ensure both the music and movement are appropriate for children. Our business has completed all the necessary requirements to work with children, including a 1-million dollar business liability insurance policy. We complete criminal and child services background checks for all of our instructors.

Parents are invited to join us on the last day of class for a Parent's Day performance.

Below are guidelines for appropriate dress for your child(ren)'s dance classes.
Our main goal is to make sure our dance students are comfortable and are able to move freely in their classes.
1 Tennis or Athletic shoes that lace, tie or velcro are required.
2 Comfortable pants and shirts are recommended for both boys and girls.
3 Skirts and dresses are not allowed for girls taking a Breakdance or Cheer class unless they are wearing pants or shorts underneath.
4 Skirts and dresses are not recommended for girls due to a variety of kicks and movement on the floor which can include slides and spins.

Part time weekly hours vary between one and ten 1-hour classes per week, depending on the candidate's availability and experience.
There is no requirement to work on the weekends and most classes end earlier than 5:30pm.
