We are a boutique dance school that is pleased to offer quality, non-competitive dance instruction in the Twin Cities area for over 35 years. We welcome dancers of all levels and ages, and offer a variety of dance classes for students ages 3 years to 70+ years. For the 2021-2022 school year, classes are offered both in studio and live-streamed via Zoom.

Spectrum Dance came under new ownership in the Fall of 2017, and we are incredibly excited to continue the legacy of the studio our students and teachers love so much.

Our studios are conveniently located off Grand Avenue in Saint Paul, within a bustling neighborhood full of shops, schools, and free parking.
Entrance to studios is on Chatsworth (black & white striped awning).
Parking is available in the lot behind the building and free street parking can be found on Chatsworth Street, Grand Avenue + Summit Avenue.

Phil and Patricia (Pat) Alesso co-owned Alesso's Dance Spectrum, Inc. for 35 years on Grand Ave, in St. Paul.
Founded by Phil in 1982, Pat joined the business in 1986, initiating a successful pre-school/youth dance program, in addition to Phil's teen and adult classes and performances.
Over the years, many hundreds of children and adults attended dance classes, master classes and participated in highly regarded yearly school performances.
Thanks to a fine, loyal staff of talented teachers, many dancers went on to college dance programs and professional dance opportunities and careers.

We make every attempt to hold classes as usual when weather strikes.
In the case of heavy snow, bitter cold, or unsafe driving conditions, we will post in studio class cancellation notices in the following places.
If in studio classes are canceled, all classes will be held via Zoom unless otherwise communicated.
2 Voicemail - we will update our voicemail system for any class cancelations at least one hour before the start of evening classes.
For morning classes (adults) - as always, please ensure you are pre-registered for class and that you email address and phone are updated.

APPEARANCE: Excessive jewelry, watches, and unsecured hair accessories may not be worn during class for safety reasons.
All hair must be pulled away from face.
Appropriate dance wear offers a realistic view of body alignment and aides in the correction of dance form and technique.
Pink tights or slim-fit pants & black/dark colored leotard.
Ballet skirt, ballet shorts, sweater styled for ballet, and ballet knits may be worn for warm-up.
Plain, black or dark colored and form fitting tops and dance shorts or pants are acceptable if worn over leotard and tights.
