Miss Persis Studio of Dance and Performing Arts has been a staple in downtown Arlington, Texas since it began in 1954. We teach kids, young adults, and not-so-young adults in a fun, safe learning environment. From traditional lessons in tap, jazz, and ballet to musical theatre, hip hop and lyrical, MPS has something for you. Twelve years ago we left a competition studio, and have never looked back. The attention to dancing in a classy, age appropriate manner, is a breath of fresh air in this day and age! The studio also has an famous, long standing tradition in Arlington, Cotillion! These classes teach young people traditional couples dances, appropriate etiquette, and proper dining manners.
My daughter was not too thrilled when I signed her up for Cotillion class but ended up having an absolute great time. I highly recommend the Cotillion class. It's a lot of fun and very good learning experience.

Miss Persis Studio began in 1954 in an old three-story house located near the First Methodist Church of Arlington and then moved to downtown Arlington on Main Street.
Five years later, another move was made to the brand new Town North Shopping Center which became our home for some 40 odd years.
In 2004, we relocated to Main Street again in historic downtown Arlington.
It is our purpose to offer the highest standards of dance education for students of all ages and levels.
Miss Persis Studio performs over 35 'Elf Shows' every December to nursing home and retirement facilities around the Metroplex.
Five years later, another move was made to the brand new Town North Shopping Center which became our home for some 40 odd years.

Persis Forster established Miss Persis Studio of Dance in 1954.
A graduate of UT Austin with a BFA in Radio/TV, she has a varied background in dance and theatre which includes performing, directing, choreography and teaching in all levels of dance and musical theatre.
She has lived in Arlington with her husband, Jerry, for over 57 years.
As a professional actress, Ms. Forster has appeared in leading principal roles at Casa Manana, Lyric Theatre in Oklahoma City, Carousel Dinner Theater in Ohio, Lyric Theatre in Irving, Theatre Arlington, Gown Town Theatre and Garland Summer Musicals.

We do demand respect and proper behavior at all times and reserve the right to dismiss any student who upsets the harmony of the school.
