From your child's first class to their graduation performance, Expressions Dance & Movement Center has a dance class for everyone! From ballet to hip hop and everything in between, we specialize in beginners of all ages as well as training for the advanced student. Expressions is More Than Just Great Dancing! Our dancers go beyond technique to develop important life skills, learning to be respectful, confident and conscientious young people who share their gifts and talents with the community.

Dance has been my passion since I started taking lessons at age 8.
As I grew up and began to teach, I dreamed of creating a place where every child would be celebrated and know that they mattered.
As a teacher, I saw the difference that dance could make in a child's life.
Dance lessons can build confidence, help kids feel strong in their bodies, and provide an anchor during troubled times.
I believe that dreams are planted in us for a reason.
They tell us about what we're meant to do; what our unique gifts, talents, and strengths are.

YPAD (Youth Protection Advocates in Dance) is dedicated to building empowered dance communities and keeping kids healthy and safe in all dance environments.
Darcy and her husband, Steve, live in Santee with their three children.
She received her AA degree in dance from Grossmont College.

As with many other children's activities that require specific attire and footwear, Expressions Dance adheres to a dress code policy which serves multiple purposes.
Our uniform dress code enables teachers to easily observe a student's alignment and position and helps students focus on dance rather than attire.
The dress code also ensures that all students have matching dancewear, should a performance opportunity arise.
At Expressions we have always celebrated every child that walks through our doors.

Performing Groups are a team of dancers at Expressions that perform at community events and compete at 2-3 dance competitions a season.
Being a member of Performing Groups at Expressions builds a dancer's self-confidence and develops their performance experience through a higher level of dance training.
There are performance opportunities for a range of skill levels.
Dancers must be able to stay engaged and focused during class and rehearsal.
Performing Group Dancers: Build Self Confidence, personal responsibility, and teamwork skills.

Our Summer Camps and Classes were Fantastic!
We can't wait to see what this new dance season has in store, & we are ready for all of it to be 100% EXCEPTIONAL!
