Rye Ballet Conservatory was founded in 1978 by Lynne Stetson, who danced with the New York City Ballet under the direction of George Balanchine. We have taught generations of aspiring dancers to develop a profound love for the art of ballet. Our school is led by a group of passionate teachers whose mission is to bring exceptional classical ballet training in a nurturing environment to Westchester County and Greenwich.
Our curriculum is rooted in the Balanchine technique and has been passed down and honed by each Director of our school. It is born of tradition and refined by experience. Our teachers have deep relationships with the history of American ballet and first-hand experience leading young dancers from the first plie to the professional stage. We believe that ballet education has benefits that last a lifetime.
Our mission is to teach dancers to embrace challenges, see effort as a path to mastery, learn from corrections, and find inspiration through the achievement of goals. We are a community of dancers that applauds each other's accomplishments and encourages fearless artistic expression.
