KUDAYO Deep Stretch with Martial Arts Movement is an open class for adults and students, dancers and non-dancers. This class focuses on relaxed deep stretching to open up joints and let the muscles breathe, which is the bulk of the class. There is a little warming up using martial arts techniques to build a grounded and directional intention in preparation for the stretch.

Charlene Brown is owner of Island Dance and Gymnastics in Langley, Washington and brings nearly 50+ years of dance experience to her studio.
Charlene has studied with nationally known teachers, and was a member of the Tacoma Performing Dance Company under the direction of Jo Emery.
Her choreography has been seen in numerous Northwest area musicals, local high school musicals, Song and Dance reviews, Kaleidoscope of Dance, Jazz alive, Other Moves and WIDT Nutcrackers.
After moving to Whidbey Island from Bremerton in 1985, Charlene began her dance studio, Island Dance.
Charlene has studied with nationally known teachers, and was a member of the Tacoma Performing Dance Company under the direction of Jo Emery.

I have worked at Island Dance Studio for 28+ years and was a Team Manager for Island Dance Performing/Competition Team for 15+ years.
I enjoy seeing all of the dancers grow in their art of dance.

Brittany Falso is a former student of Island Dance and an alumni of Whidbey Island Dance Theatre.
She teaches ballet, pointe technique and modern dance.
Brittany attended Cornish College of the Arts from 2008-2011.
While at Cornish she performed with Cornish Dance Theatre, The Cornish Dance Collective and held an apprenticeship with DASSdance.
She has also studied at the Laban School in London.
Brittany has danced 4 seasons professionally as a company member with DASSdance under direction of Daniel Wilkins in Seattle, WA.
She teaches ballet, pointe technique and modern dance.
